Rainbow Falls waterfall is located in the Smoky Mountains. This amazing waterfall gets its name from rainbows produced by mist from this 80-foot high waterfall. On sunny afternoons, this amazing sight can be seen! I stole this photo from pinterest... click on it for more info! It is a stunning image! Now, this hike is considered moderate difficulty. The terrain, duration and climb can be difficult for some. Rainbow Falls Trail gains about 1,500 feet in elevation as you climb upward. It's 5.4 miles round-trip and the Rainbow Falls Trail continues for approximately 4 miles beyond the falls all the way to the summit of Mount Le Conte. Please plan accordingly and factor in the amount of daylight you will have! This is NOT a hike to start later in the afternoon. As always, this is your friendly reminder to bring a flashlight... cell phone batteries run low and you'll be without light. Carry drinking water with you - you will need it! I don't know why people hike without water. Wear sturdy shoes. Portions of this trail are very rocky.

Emily talks with me about doTERRA essential oils on this episode of Smoky Magic Media LIVE! on the Mountain Fun Life Channel.
I must say, these mountains are magic. It is part of why I named my company "Smoky Magic Media" because if I've learned anything at all living here in East Tennessee it's that there's nothing like driving through them at sunset and watching the sky burst into colors of oranges and pinks, fading in dusky purples as twilight settles across the Smokies and the first stars begin to twinkle in the night sky. These mountains are magical and you'll stand in awe to feel so small as you look up into the night sky seeing the universe stretched out before you, the small pin pricks of light so clear and bright in the clean mountain air. Have you been inspired looking into the night sky, or while taking a hike and pausing at sunset to take it all in? Have you ever been mesmerized as the setting sun cascaded light across these Smoky Mountains? I can't get enough of them. It's hard to imagine going very long without Smokey Mountain sunsets.
